Sourcing Stainless Steel
Unlike carbon steel, the stainless supply chain is highly specialized. Most suppliers focus on either Industrial Pipe (Chemical/Oil & Gas) or Sanitary Tubing (Food/Pharma). Choosing the right distributor saves time and ensures you get the correct polish and material certs.

Buyer's Tip: Pipe vs. Tube
Always confirm if you need Pipe (measured by Nominal Bore, e.g., 2" pipe is 2.375" OD) or Tubing (measured by exact OD, e.g., 2" tube is 2.000" OD). Ordering the wrong one will result in fittings that do not fit. Read the full technical guide here.
