ERW STEEL PIPE

Electric Resistance Welded pipe for structural, piling, and line pipe uses.

ERW (Electric Resistance Welded) is the industry standard for mid-sized pipe (2" to 24"). Often referred to as "Straight Seam" pipe, it is manufactured by cold-forming a ribbon of steel into a round shape and welding the seam using high-frequency electricity. This creates a bond where the weld is virtually invisible and as strong as the parent metal.

Common Applications

Because it combines high strength with tight dimensional tolerances, ERW is used across all sectors:

Infrastructure
  • Pipe Piling: Foundation piles with attached points/plates.
  • Bollards: Concrete-filled security barriers.
  • Sign Poles: Highway signage and billboard supports.
Energy & Utility
  • Line Pipe: Oil, gas, and water transmission.
  • Water Well: Pump column and drilling casing.
  • Fencing: Livestock corrals and high-security fencing.

Coatings & Fabrication

We can connect you with master distributors and structural steel suppliers offering custom fabrication services:

  • Coatings: Fusion Bond Epoxy (FBE), Coal Tar, and Hot-Dip Galvanizing (Zinc).
  • Attachments: Welding conical pile points, drive shoes, and end plates (loose or attached).
  • Precision Cutting: Band saw cutting for short pieces, bollards, and custom lengths (2" and up).
